Dr. Seth Hollar Technologist, Developer, Inventor
Dr. Seth Hollar, graduated from MIT in 1996 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He went on to graduate with his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley in 2003 specializing in micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS). Among the systems Seth has developed are: one of the world's smallest autonomous robots, one of the first distributed sensor network platforms (the initial platform for TinyOS and predecessor to products sold by CrossBow Corporation), and the Acceleration Sensing Glove, which uses accelerometers to sense hand and finger motion (applications include hand-based mouse and computer recognizable hand symbols). Additionally, Seth has worked on attitude control systems for unmanned space exploration missions at Lockheed Martin (Mars Orbiter and Stardust) and was a Toshiba Fellow at their Research and Development Center in Kawasaki, Japan.
Liz Hollar Strategy, Marketing, Finance
Liz Hollar received her B.S. in Biology from MIT in 1996. While at MIT, she also worked on machine learning at MIT’s media lab. In 1998, Liz went on to receive her Master’s degree in Technology and Policy also from MIT. She then worked at SRI Consulting focusing on market research and strategy. Thereafter, she worked at the biotechnology firm, Chiron, both at their US headquarters and abroad at their London office, working on Mergers and Acquisitions. Liz Hollar currently runs SeventhDigit’s marketing and commercial work.
